Sometimes It's Not Just About Business
At DoorGrow, we believe that championing the causes important to our team is key to fostering a strong, united workplace. We are passionate about creating an environment where every individual feels supported not only in their professional goals but in their personal passions as well.
One thing that's pretty much unanimous amongst our team members? We all love dogs!
Jason & Sarah Hull, our President and COO, are particularly passionate about supporting local rescue and adoption efforts. Our Latest Foster Success, Hans
Hans is 44-pound pitbull mix. He was found wandering the streets in Round Rock and brought to a local shelter. He may come across shy at first glance, but once you earn his trust, Hans' true personality comes out big time. This handsome fella is the very definition of a velcro dog—he wants constant physical contact and he gives great hugs.
We'r delighted to share that Hans found his perfect family, and has a dog and a baby friend at his new home ❤️ His new mom fell in love with him instantly, and will shower him with love and affection. And he will get to play with his new dog brother every day.
Organizations We Love
We're deeply passionate about supporting local rescue groups because we believe every innocent life deserves a second chance. Animals are more than just pets—they're family members who provide unconditional love, loyalty, and companionship. Yet, so many of these animals find themselves abandoned, neglected, or homeless through no fault of their own.
The costs of fostering animals—food, medical care, shelter, and rehabilitation—add up quickly, and these groups rely heavily on donations to continue their lifesaving work. Every dollar donated directly helps provide care, comfort, and a safe haven for these vulnerable animals.
We would love it if you'd consider joining with us in supporting the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter and the Austin Bulldog Rescue.
Silver, A Dog with Love to Spare
Our adorable buddy Silver endured more than any little soul should. Found roaming the streets of San Antonio with some other bulldog strays, he was covered in bite marks, scared and unsure of what would happen next. Thankfully, Silver was rescued just in time, with Austin Bulldog Rescue taking him in as an "honorary bulldog."
During his time with us, Silver flourished as he realized he was finally safe. This little lovebug loves to play and get cuddles from everyone he meets.
Recently, Silver found his forever family—his new family literally said, "Silver or bust!" He is living his best life and making up for lost time, running, playing, and enjoying his second chance to the fullest.
@welovecuddly Starved To Just 25lbs, English Bulldog Loses HALF His Body Weight After Severe and Prolonged Neglect... A Bulldog doesn’t drop from 50 to 25 pounds overnight. Someone watched Maynard deteriorate and did nothing to help him. Found by Animal Control, Maynard had collapsed in the triple-digit heat on the streets of San Antonio, TX. He was covered in ticks, feces, and urine, and every bone was visible. He was anemic, dehydrated, and actively dying. His delicate frame was covered in sores, likely from taking shelter under scorching hot cars. When we heard of Maynard's arrival at the shelter, we immediately arranged to take him in. So weak he could barely walk, he was rushed right to the vet. He required an emergency life-saving blood transfusion, and diagnostic tests revealed one problem after another. Maynard was FILLED with intestinal parasites, and he had TWO tick-borne illnesses, Ehrlichia and Anaplasma. His liver was extremely damaged, likely by a parasite called Heterobilharzia, which he may have contracted from drinking contaminated water. This led to extreme weight loss, vomiting, diarrhea, and lethargy. He was also diagnosed with Pneumonia. Even worse, Maynard has such a severe case of Megaesophagus that his body is completely incapable of transporting food or liquids to his stomach without the help of gravity. It is truly a miracle this poor boy was found alive. Maynard was hospitalized and received aggressive treatment. Finally, he started to improve and was released into the care of a medical foster. He is on a strict regimen of small and frequent meals to help him safely gain weight without overwhelming his delicate system, along with continuous treatment to support his ongoing medical needs. Maynard has a VERY long way to go on the road to recovery, and we can't do this alone. Please consider contributing to his medical fund, or donating any items from his wish list of supplies. We will continue to keep you updated on his progress. Thank you for your invaluable support. Meet the Fighter, Maynard
Maynard, a brave little bulldog, was found collapsed on the scorching streets of San Antonio, where he'd likely been dumped after being used as for breeding. He weighed just 25 pounds, which is half of what he should have been. His list of issues was as long as your arm—severe dehydration, starvation, muscle atrophy; he was also covered in hundreds of ticks that took hours to pull off, had two tick-borne illnesses & anemia, and he needed a blood transfusion to survive. He was actively dying, but Austin Bulldog Rescue stepped in hoping for a miracle.
We were honored to serve as fosters for Maynard, showing him true kindness and love for the first time in his life. He LOVED smashing his little face into Sarah, and just kept trying to get closer.
A week into his recovery with us, things took a turn for the worse, as he began struggling to walk. He was raced to the ER, where doctors identified further problems and believed it may be best to euthanize. By chance, he was offered some mac & cheese before he was put down, and based on how excited he was to eat it, the vet's recommend a full body scan. Ultimately, the scan revealed megaesophagus, a condition that makes it impossible for him to eat like a normal dog. The quick-thinking veterinary team used a makeshift bailey chair to see if it would allow him to eat normally, and lo and behold, it worked like a charm. We now joke that mac & cheese saved his life!
Maynard spent time in medical foster home, where he gained weight steadily, his organs recovered full functioning and his megaesophagus resolved itself.
Maynard was recently adopted by his new dad and is now living out his best life in Southern California.
Captain, The Little Guy Who Stole Our Hearts
Captain is an adorable little rat terrier mix we just couldn't say resist. Can you blame us?
Along with his two brothers, he was pushed into a tiny cage and dropped off outside the shelter overnight. When staff discovered him the next day, he was absolutely terrified.
From the moment we rescued him, the true Captain began to emerge. Not only did he show himself to be a velcro dog who simply cannot get close enough to you, but he quickly found a best friend in Parker, our first rescue. The two have become inseparable, with Captain seizing any chance he's got to cuddle his big brother.
Captain also loves to click our "outdoor" button, taking any chance he can get to sunbathe in the yard or hunt for squirrels.
Our First Rescue, Parker
Parker’s story began when his mom escaped her yard and was impregnated by another dog. Sadly, her owner abandoned her at the pound, and a foster family stepped in to save her and her unborn puppies. Parker was one of those puppies.
From the moment he came into our lives, he has been the most loyal, loving companion. As our first rescue, Parker has shown us the incredible bond that can form through adoption. He’s fiercely protective, always on guard, ready to chase away “threats” like the Amazon driver or a neighbor passing by.
Despite being 85 pounds, he still believes he’s a lap dog, eager to lay on top of us and give the warmest hugs. Parker’s happiest moments are spent either sunbathing with family or on walks, and his top three loves are his mom, meat, and outdoor adventures, in that order. He truly is our big baby with a huge heart.
